OSEN, a media outlet, recently unveiled that the first broadcast of the drama series "Lovers," featuring Namkoong Min and Ahn Eun Jin, is scheduled for August 4th. The show will occupy MBC's Friday and Saturday K-drama timeslot.Set in the Joseon era during the Qing invasion, referred to as Byeongja Horan in Korean, "Lovers" will portray the unfolding events. It revolves around the love story of a woman who believed she could conquer any man in the world but eventually falls in love with a man, and a man who had never experienced love until he met this woman.
Director Kim Sung Yong (known for "The Veil") and writer Hwang Jin Young (credited for works like "Rebel: Thief Who Stole the People" and "The King's Daughter, Soo Baek Hyang") will helm this upcoming historical series.
In addition to Namkoong Min and Ahn Eun Jin, "Lovers" will also feature prominent actors Lee Hak Joo and Lee Da In.
As per reports, "Lovers" will face competition from SBS's upcoming K-drama, "The First Responders Season 2," which is also set to premiere in August.
Namkoong Min has been cast as Lee Jang Hyun, a man whose actions lack sincerity. However, his life takes an unexpected turn when he encounters a woman, leading him to face an unforeseen destiny.
Ahn Eun Jin will portray Yoo Gil Chae, hailing from a respectable family and blossoming into a stunning woman. Her experience of love transforms her into a mature individual. Previously, she believed that every man in the world would be enamored by her, but war brings about a change in her perspective.
Lee Hak Joo will bring Nam Yeon Jun, a Confucian scholar and current student at Sungkyunkwan University, to life.
Lastly, Lee Da In has been chosen for the role of Kyung Eun Hae, who serves as both the closest friend of Yoo Gil Chae and the soulmate of Nam Yeon Jun.
